Timothée Chalamet’s Collaborative Creation with Cartier: A Dune-Inspired Necklace

Timothée Chalamet’s partnership with Cartier extends beyond the realm of luxury watches, granting him exclusive access to bespoke jewelry pieces tailored for his red carpet appearances. At the London premiere of “Dune: Part Two,” Chalamet debuted a custom-designed necklace crafted by Cartier, capturing the essence of Arrakis with its dazzling and symbolic composition.

Collaborating closely with Cartier, Chalamet contributed creative input to the necklace’s design, resulting in a remarkable piece adorned with subtle references to the world of Dune. The necklace features modular components that allow Chalamet to showcase different combinations of its 900 glimmering stones. Paired with a bespoke ensemble from fashion designer Haider Ackermann, the necklace exudes elegance and sophistication on the red carpet.

On one side of the rotating pieces, an array of diamonds in shades of orange, yellow, and brown pays homage to Arrakis’ desert landscape. However, Cartier’s attention to detail goes beyond color, incorporating inverted diamonds to create a textured surface reminiscent of the planet’s rugged terrain. On the reverse side, blue sapphires and spinels evoke the mesmerizing blue eyes of Chalamet’s Fremen tribe, a key element of the Dune narrative.

Chalamet expressed his admiration for Cartier’s craftsmanship, stating, “Cartier creations have always been my first choice for important moments, and getting to collaborate on this project only reinforced that for me.” The collaboration with Marie-Laure Cérède, Cartier’s creative director of jewelry and watchmaking, successfully captures the desert landscape and raw beauty of Dune within the iconic Cartier style.

This isn’t the first time Chalamet has collaborated with Cartier on a custom jewelry piece. Previously, the actor showcased another unique creation at the premiere of his film “Wonka.” These exclusive collaborations highlight the benefits of Chalamet’s partnership with Cartier, allowing him to explore the brand’s diverse offerings beyond luxury watches.

While Chalamet initially gravitated towards Cartier’s iconic Panthére watches, he has since expanded his horizons to include gem-set timepieces like the Crash and the elegant Cintrée. Yet, amidst Cartier’s extensive catalog, the bespoke necklace adorned with 900 gems remains a standout tribute to Chalamet’s cinematic endeavors.
